Tim Walker has an incredible talent to not only invoke the art of dress in every single photo shoot he does, but also the magic of dress–an undeniable characteristic in many of his most memorable spreads. Walker has an uncanny ability to transport his subjects–and viewers– to another time and place, one that champions dress as a defining element in an ethereal, surrealist dreamscape. Credit must also be given to stylist Jacob K who is responsible for selecting the ensembles that delight the majority of Walker’s work with W Magazine. For this October 2012 issue starring Jennifer Lawrence, Walker and Jacob K looked to Birds of Paradise for inspiration–and the Fall 2012 runways, of course.
